Beautiful wedding!

Emily and Johnny and I got connected through mutual friends, David and Holly, who’s wedding I photographed two Decembers ago. Last night these two came to the studio and we watched their warm winter wedding slideshow for the first time. At the end of the night, I felt the same way that I did about them on the wedding day. That they are beautifully certain about what they like and who they are, and also that they always leave me happy and wanting more of them.
Emily’s favorite wedding photos are the classics- Princess Grace, Jackie Kennedy, any large semi-formal, but wierdly informal family photo from over 60 years ago. We connected on our love for nostalgia and the elements of classic style. Johnny admitted that he had a thing for the look of lights in the distance- out of focus and dreamy. Hey, me too Johnny. And, happily, beneath these surface compatibilities, we also connected on what we held most dear.
To start…Emily dealt with her leaning cake with a refreshingly casual attitude.

The dress arrives…she loooves the dress!

Emily’s bridesmaids help her change her underwear

The next two beautiful shots are Jewel’s

Good Lord Becca. You were on a mad mission with this wedding weren’t you. That garter shot… does it get any better than that? (no). i just love all of these. Probably my favorite set of yours ever.
You guys are amazing.
Okay, I nearly always get choked up when i see your posts, but today, seeing the grammy pictures I was overcome. Having my own beautiful granddaughter makes me identify even more with those loving moments you have captured.
B, does it get old being told “you rock” so much? I mean, for real, how did I land a job with you? . . . I would like to thank the 2008 election party (or the host rather) for making our 1st meeting happen. ; )
And I must agree, the garter shot is DY-NO-MITE! I’m also quite thrilled the tatoo shot made it. : )
Very nice Becca!
You and Jewel are so great! We are so happy you agreed to work with us and we could not be more pleased. We will enjoy the photos for many, many years!
Also, I’m going to need a 30×40 of that butt shot from the garter toss. It’s going above our mantel.
Great set of wedding images, love the reactions and emotion you capture.
Becca, you rock as usual! Missing ya over at the forum…
I love the leaning cake. I mean, I love the photo. But I also love the cake. We miss you xxxooo

I am with Erin. You rocked this wedding my friend!
Very proud of you! Such unexpected moments. Love the leaning cake, Jewel’s killer tattoo image, and the garter to name a few. Nice job girls!
