Last November Megan drove out to King City, MO, as she does every year on the anniversary of her dad’s death. With her two black labs in tow, she arrived to spend some time on the hill where her dad is buried. But this year was different. As she pulled up, her boyfriend at the time, John, was standing there in a suit, waiting for her. He asked her to marry him.
When John told me this story at our first meeting, I cried. We all cried a little bit. To me, it was so beautiful that John thought to take a day of sadness and give it a new life.
Megan and John met me out there with their two dogs. Here they are on a quilt made by Megan’s great grandmother, with the tree in the distance that Megan’s parent’s used to snuggle under when they were young. A very special engagement session.

What a sweet story! And lovely images, Becca!
So sweet Becca. I love the first image. His silhouette in the space of the window and the touch of light on her face is beautiful.
