When I think of Kathryn and Mike I think easy, like breath of fresh air easy. Perfect example- Kathryn’s cake collapsed while no one was looking, and she just walked over, looked at it and laughed. The whole day was like this- full of really great moments, made up of everyday kind of things that added up to reveal what authentic, caring, fun people Mike and Kathryn are.
One other fond memory of mine from the wedding day is how often Kathryn said, “I’m just so happy I’m married to Mike Kelly”…(something like that). I know for sure that every time she said his name, she used his first and last name. So cute. Looking forward to seeing you guys next week!

How many bridesmaids does it take to open a bottle of Prosecco?

One of the rules of photojournalism is not to just look, but listen. I remember Kathryn saying how sentimental it was seeing her maid of honor brushing her teeth, because it was a sight she saw everyday when they lived together. This moment is pretty special to me.

Another one that needs a little explanation- Kathryn realized about 15 minutes before they needed to leave for the church that her mom didn’t know what time she needed to be ready. Here Kathryn’s aunt reacts to the reality that they’ve got to track down mom.

Jewel’s shot of a beer run

Kathryn is awesome. All of her bridesmaids had already walked into the church, and she stopped momentarily took a deep breath, and just took it all in.

The groomscake- and yes, those beer bottles are completely edible.

One of Kathryn’s girlfriends surprised them by singing a little Etta James for them…

Making some calls trying to figure out where to go for the afterparty…

Westport is blocked off by security on the weekends, and of course Mike and Kathryn didn’t have their IDs on them…they weren’t going to let them through at first. Persistence worked in the end.

They capped off the night hanging out with friends at their favorite spot, Harry’s Bar and Tables.
