I am sitting here trying to think of how to articulate how much I love Marissa and Arna, and I am completely intimidated, because Arna is one of the best writers I have ever met, and for two days, I heard these two exchange some of the deepest, most sincere, and passionate words. So I will not be able to do justice with my words, but hopefully you will be able to get an idea of the extraordinary nature of these two people and their love from my pictures. You guys have been a joy and an inspiration to know. Slideshow coming…..

Marissa is 10 or so years older than her little sister, and she took care of her a lot growing up, so there is a really tender sense of love between them. As Marissa did her little sister’s makeup, she said “Marissa, do you remember when you used to kiss me on the forehead, and on the nose and on the mouth before I went to bed?”. So beautifully precious.

Marissa opening Arna’s wedding gift…my favorite gift I’ve seen…a 50th Wedding Anniversary Cake topper, with a note promising 50 and beyond.

It was wildly hot that day, and Arna was never without his handy cold towel

Arna’s dad is the beloved former Chancellor of the University of Kansas, so the school has always been in the context of Arna’s life. Here as he dresses for his wedding day, his room overlooks the iconic Campanile
