Ashley & Byron | Wedding
28th April
This is my second Wilson family wedding, I shot Ashley’s brothers wedding two years ago, and I just loved getting to be a part of another event in the life of this family. When Ashley and Byron and I got together shortly before their wedding, they put a huge smile on my face because of their love story and their big personalities and big laughs. Byron had never dated a blonde before Ashley, but after they started dating, Byron’s Guatamalan grandpa reminded him that he had had a thing for blondes since childhood. I think these two would describe themselves as opposites in more ways than just their hair coloring. But the way they coexist and make each other laugh and grow with all of those differences fully present, it’s pretty fantastic and fun to watch. We had the best time capturing your day you two. Here are a few favorites.… Read the rest
Gloria + Hunter | Wedding
12th April
In all honesty I have no idea where to start this blog post. There is so much to tell it is hard to know where to start, so I guess I will just dive in.
Bottom line is Gloria and Hunter are two of the most fantastic people with the most fantastic family, friends and love I have witnessed. They make you want to be a better, happier person every time you are around them.
There are so so many things about them that support that statement but the one that really sticks out in my mind happened right after their amazing wedding in Jan. at Starlight. When it was all said and done and I was following them on their way out to the shuttle it took them forever to finally walk out the door. You might think because of all the people they had to say goodbye to or they were just having so much fun they could not leave. You would be wrong. On their way out they made a point to personally thank all the people involved in making their day so great. All the way down to the person that was cleaning up empty glasses off the tables. That spoke volumes to me about them and their character and I felt honored to be able to witness them, their day, and their love for 10 straight hours.
One of the people they made sure to thank was their close family friend Ellyn Bold. Ellyn is a very talented wedding designer and producer here in town that I have had the pleasure working with for many years. She really raises the … Read the rest
Sarah & Mick
8th April

I texted my dear friend Sarah the morning of her wedding, and she replied, “I woke up with Goin to the Chapel in my mind, and clapping in bed”. I could picture her doing it exactly as she wrote it! That was one of my favorite things about getting to photograph my friend Sarah on her wedding day. I got to study her, and grab all of those quintessential Sarah expressions. And then I got to look at them all again as I went through the edit and treasure my friend that I love so much.
Sarah and I met at a retreat, and after one lunch together, realized we were some sort of soul mates. There has never been one time that I have walked away form her feeling drained, rather, she always makes me laugh and feel okay, and savor life in all of its bigness. Last anecdote, Sarah is an enthusiast of people and of authors and foods, and styles of furniture and prints and…she gets excited about things. Well, everyone I know that knows Sarah is an enthusiast of her.
The first night we hung out with Mick we learned that he and my husband share an essential set of personality characteristics. Mick is a killer cook, and he loves to cook for Sarah. I love seeing him serve Sarah, make her laugh, and be her best friend. I look forward to life with you two. Love you both!… Read the rest
Caitlin & Brett
7th April
I still remember my initial meeting with Caitlin and her mom. They are both so warm, sweet, and sincere, glowing from the inside. We talked about our mutual connections through club soccer, and they taught me a method of training for races. Random facts, but also important, because the best meetings are the ones where we have a lot more to talk about than weddings.
I first met Brett just before their engagement session, and we were walking up to their apartment at the same time. He greeted me with a huge kind smile and he was just as friendly and glowing as Caitlin. We had a great time traipsing around the neighborhood where they share their first place together. Here are a few of my favorites.
A barnyard beach party
3rd April
Today it was suddenly 80 degrees outside. So Charlotte and I decided that all of her farm animals would probably like to go to the beach.
