I texted my dear friend Sarah the morning of her wedding, and she replied, “I woke up with Goin to the Chapel in my mind, and clapping in bed”. I could picture her doing it exactly as she wrote it! That was one of my favorite things about getting to photograph my friend Sarah on her wedding day. I got to study her, and grab all of those quintessential Sarah expressions. And then I got to look at them all again as I went through the edit and treasure my friend that I love so much.
Sarah and I met at a retreat, and after one lunch together, realized we were some sort of soul mates. There has never been one time that I have walked away form her feeling drained, rather, she always makes me laugh and feel okay, and savor life in all of its bigness. Last anecdote, Sarah is an enthusiast of people and of authors and foods, and styles of furniture and prints and…she gets excited about things. Well, everyone I know that knows Sarah is an enthusiast of her.
The first night we hung out with Mick we learned that he and my husband share an essential set of personality characteristics. Mick is a killer cook, and he loves to cook for Sarah. I love seeing him serve Sarah, make her laugh, and be her best friend. I look forward to life with you two. Love you both!
A prayer for Sarah to start the day…

One of Sarah’s favorite things is High Hat Coffee in Westwood Hills. It was perfectly fitting to walk there for a cup on her wedding day.

Jewel’s 2 photos below

It is evidence of how many people love her, but Sarah’s wedding was pulled off by friends. One of those big players was Tiffany, who had a major part in Sarah’s flowers. And she was just about to have her baby at the wedding. I see this photo of her swollen feet, shoes off, clipping away as a picture of love for sarah

Mick went inside to get them drinks, and came out with Cherry Kool Aid

My baby Charlotte and our friend Sarah look out at the city

I had to post this one…these two are engaged!!! since the wedding. My dear friend Cari and my new friend John
To end the night…instead of wedding cake, a handful of people baked their own famous pies, and Sarah and Mick’s parents tasted and judged them.

Love you so much

Beautiful! Blessings to Sarah and Mick. Congratulations Carrie! Charlotte, you are amazing.
I am speechless. You are out of control Becca. Thank you for capturing the absolute joy of our day. Sincerely one of the best parts was getting to share it with you. Mick Hartman cooked me dinner tonight while we looked at them and his quote is “better than anything I could imagine…and I am not kidding.” Love you friend.
Those are amazing. Beautiful, perfect…

Sarah and Mick’s wedding definitely goes down as one of my favorite, most joyful “work” days thus far. B, you captured Sarah’s joy and vibrant personality so well. And, it was such a treat for me to be with Mick the whole morning. : ) So wonderful.
