Katie + Joe | A St Joseph Missouri Short Wedding Film
Katie and Joe were married on a warm summer day in St. Joseph, Missouri, where they now reside. The day was filled with plenty of laughter and tears, from both Katie and Joe as well as their loving crew of family and friends. Without further adieu, the short film of their day:
One of the reasons I love shooting wedding video is that sometimes it can show a moment in a different way than photography, due to motion. The below still frame from the video shows Katie and Joe standing on stage at Wyatt Park Baptist Church . They are beaming at each other. What the still frame doesn’t show you, but the video does, is how Joe is so excited after Katie finishes her vows that he can’t help but shake her hands in anticipation of being man and wife!
I love this moment during the reception where Joe and Katie look up from dancing to see Joe’s ring. The reception took place at the downtown St Joseph Holiday Inn.
This is my favorite moment of the day. It shows Joe wiping away a tear in the middle of a prayer he said after lighting the unity candle.
This last frame also reminds me that I need to give props to my secondary cinematographer and technical assistant, Brady Anderson. It was his call to set that camera there in hopes of capturing that last moment, and he pulled it off perfectly.
The song is Beautiful Things by Gungor. During the ceremony it was performed live by friends of Katie and Joe. I used both the original song and the live version in the video.
