Courtney + Royce | A Kansas City Short Wedding Film
I shared with you Courtney and Royce’s engagement film in early July. I had the great pleasure of recently documenting their wedding day. This is their short wedding video.
The wedding took place at the Hawthorne House in Parkville, Missouri. Dimartino did the still photography and it was all coordinated by the awesome Christine from Celebrations.
One of my favorite parts of the wedding are the flamenco dancers that were entertaining the guests during the cocktail hour. They also lead the entrance of Courtney and Royce into the reception.
Two of my other favorite things about the wedding didn’t make it into the short film, only because they will take being put into a long film for them to be fully used to their best advantage. The first thing is Courtney and Royce riding away at the end of the night in a Bentley. I love that visually it departs from the Hawthorne House but I also love how they spent the quiet time to relax and talk about the day.
If you watched the engagement film, then you know all about Courtney and Royce’s passion for video games. To celebrate that passion, they had a character from their favorite video game made into a Groom’s cake. The Claptrap cake was made by Mike Elder. Claptrap is from Borderlands and the upcoming Borderlands 2 video game. This is what wedding days should be about, in my opinion– bringing elements of things that you both love into your day. I think they made a good call bringing their love of games into their wedding day.
